thurs25Pinot Noir Around the World | September 25 | 5:30 – 7pm | $20
Pinot Noir at its best simply defies description. Called the Heartbreak Grape by wistful, ambitious, often frustrated winemakers, it evokes seductive aromas, a tender mouthfeel, translucent color, and deep, mysterious flavors. Pinot is the fussiest of grapes, preferring cooler climates, specific soil types, and offering a myriad of clonal possibilities. As the wine maker of DRC (the most renowned Pinot Noir in the world) once said, “Pinot Noir is a sponge: it absorbs the influences of the soil, the weather, and the barrel. The fruit doesn’t get in the way of the place.” We will explore that sentiment as we draw from regions such as Burgundy, Oregon, California, Michigan, Chile, New Zealand & South Africa. Join us on our journey around the world! Purchase tickets online.

We will sample many of these highly reviewed wines from wineries including Mawby, Bel Lago, Mari, Chateau Chantal, Boathouse, Left Foot Charley, bigLittle, and Good Harbor. Join us for a celebration of Michigan! Purchase tickets online.

thurs25Rhône & the Rangers | October 9 | 5:30-7pm | $20
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! One can easily see why a small group of producers in California (dubbed the Rhône Rangers) would choose the wines of France’s Rhône Valley for their inspiration. This region’s best winemakers produce touchstones of excellence, from the iconic, earthy Syrahs of the Northern Rhône, to the gnarly vines of up to 13 varietals in Châteauneuf du Pape, to the opulent Rosés of Tavel and finally to the gorgeous Viognier of Condrieu. We will dive into this historic region along with their American counterparts. Purchase tickets online.
